    Bricks & Stones

  • You can remove smoke stains out of stone or brick around your fireplace with coke. Have nylon brush and a bucket of very hot water handy. Pour the Coke on the smoke stain and immediately brush it back out with the nylon brush. Rinse the stones and/or bricks with hot water making sure to get all the coke and blot dry.

  • Fireplace Glass

  • Spray cool glass with a mixture of ½ cup vinegar, 1-tablespoon ammonia, and 1-gallon clear water. Rinse. Repeat if necessary.
  • White wall tire cleaner melts most smoke stains off glass fireplace doors. Spray it on, wipe it off and then finish the job with window cleaner.
