Household Tips

Living Room - Vacuum

  • Carpets should be vacuumed at least once a week except in high traffic areas, which should be done daily.
  • Don’t be in a hurry when you vacuum, moving the vacuum slowly will allow you to pick up more dirt. You should also try to vacuum each area of the carpet in several different directions.
  • Removing larger items from the room before you vacuum can save you time.
  • Small hard items such as coins should be picked up rather than vacuumed. They can either damage your vacuum cleaner or clog the hose.
  • Adjust the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner according your carpet type. If it is hard to push your vacuum it is too low. A too high nozzle will not allow the brushes to reach the dirt embedded in the pile of your carpet.
  • Use your bare floor attachment on braided rugs. The rotating brushes of a rotating nozzle could damage it.
  • Spray Febreeze on either your vacuum roller brushes or your carpet when you vacuum.
